Notre philosophie
01
Sustainability,
a natural
consequence
of our convictions
At Mammenn, we never asked ourselves, “How can we be more sustainable?” The question simply didn’t arise in those terms. When you have a deep love for a region—its meadows, its coastlines, its farmers, its seasons—taking care of it isn’t a burden; it’s a given.
Distilling naturally means rejecting the chemical shortcuts that mask the true nature of ingredients. It means accepting that quality takes time. It means working with local producers rather than seeking out cheaper ingredients from elsewhere. This isn’t just “sustainable development”—it is, quite simply, respect.
«The best natural spirit is one that respects the raw material at every stage—from the earth to the bottle, without ever cutting corners. »
Pierre Lescop, Founder of Mammenn

- ENGAGEMENT 01
Local terroir,
raw materials
from the Pays Bigouden
- 100% of the plants are gathered locally within a 30 km radius
- Sourced from organic or sustainable farming, free from pesticides
- Direct partnerships with producers, with no intermediaries
- Respect for seasonality — we adapt our recipes to the harvest

- ENGAGEMENT 02
Production
naturelle,

Zero waste,
maximize the value of everything
in the cycle
Distillation produces residues. At Mammenn, these residues are not waste—they are the next step in the cycle. Spent grains are returned to farmers to be used as animal feed. Macerated botanicals go on to nourish our composters.
Our bottles can be reused on-site. Our packaging is minimal and recyclable. We work to reduce our water and energy consumption each year, constantly seeking ways to close the loop.
- Cereal grains (spent grains) returned to partner farms
- Complete composting of macerated plants
- Bottle deposit program at the distillery
- E-commerce packaging made from recycled and recyclable materials

Ker Heol Herbal Teas and Herbs
Aromatic and medicinal plants
At Ker Heol, we have been growing aromatic and medicinal plants for over forty years, in the heart of Finistère. From seed to herbal tea, every step takes place on the farm: cultivation, harvesting, drying, and blending.

Origin of our property
Spring water & reduction
The water used to dilute our spirits comes from a local natural spring, filtered naturally by the Armorican schists.
« We distill the territory
If the territory disappears,
our spirits vanish along with him. »
GOING FURTHER
The best way to support our
approach
Choosing Mammenn means voting for a way of producing alcohol that respects the land, the people, and the flavor. Every bottle purchased directly funds this approach—as well as the local producers who make it possible.
